Luke and I arrived this morning to hear Noel gabbing with the nurses’ assistant, and we could tell from the tone and timbre of her voice that she was feeling better. Fortunately, watching last night’s game didn’t set her back as much as it set back those of us who who had to watch it in person.

The pharmacy assistant came in to see if she could give Annie some instruction on the Lovenox injections that she’ll have to give herself when she gets home (to prevent blood clotting), and Ann said she would be happy to make an appointment with her. This exchange helped me see that she truly was getting back to normal.

She is off the sips and chips restrictions, and she had some tea this morning; indeed, her weight is almost back up to pre-surgery levels. Her energy is also much better today, though right now she is snoozing a bit (as is Luke). A peaceful morning.

    Dear Noel and Clark
As I was sitting in church this morning Noel became very present to me…
As you both know we have not had any contact in years…..
This evening as I was talking to Leon, he mentioned that you were in the hospital…
So I guess what I am trying to convey is that you were a very powerful presence in my life and the Lord our God, has asked me to pray for you…..
Please keep me in your list of contacts…I will pray for you and your recovery…
    God Bless
    Sue Mellado

    Hi Noel,

I’m thrilled to hear you are doing so well.
We have been praying for you & the guys. It’s hard on the guys as well to be worrying about you.
Keep smiling and you will be through your recovery before you know it!

    Take care,

    Dana B.

P.S. Dona said no snow yet, because it has melted over the past week.
P.P.S. The stinking Tommies keep winning 😦

    Hello my beautiful friend!

I am so glad you are on the mend. Slow and steady, Noel, slow and steady. I know that sitting still is not easy for you to do, but do it anyway. πŸ™‚

We’re in Santa Fe through Wednesday. It is truly God’s country out here. Beautiful sunsets, clear starry skies, miles and miles of unencumbered land. Really cold, but thankfully without rain or snow. Today, we visited the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi and El Santuario de Guadalupe, which is the oldest extant shrine to the Virgin of Guadalupe in the US. I said a prayer for you and the entire Stanton family there. Take care, take it easy, and we’ll talk to you soon.

    Love,
    Adoria

Sorry about the Irish, but at least the winners were one of the best in the nation. Definitely an improved season for ND.

Annie’s continued progress is much better news.

    All the best,

    Jim and Jolanne

Good to see you on Saturday, Clark. Best that we hooked up before the game when the mood was more positive. I had to inject Lovenox for a period of time a couple of years ago. It’s very easy and when it came to the choice of learn or stay in the hospital, it was a no-brainer.
