Hello clark, family and friends,
It has been so good continuing to hear from you. I gave up my morphine this afternoon to see if I COULD BE CLEARER, and so
Far it is much better. I think I will still
Have to call it mY blob, until I can actually get some thoughts and ideas together. The hardest thing post-surg. Is that I still can’t
Have a drink of water. I can know let small ice-chips melt on my tongue. One 9oz cup every 8 hrs. I
also can’t have any. Food or liquids. food I don’t mind at all.
Ihaven’t had
Food. Or liquids for quite a while, so it will be delicate re-intro. how long? Nov. 14-21, I was on a clear liquids . During OCT. I had about four regular dinners. what I like best about the blog, is
That it seems to get us all reconnected. If Ididn’t get you on the blog it is totally unintended. Back again later.I can feel the energy and the prayer.. Love Annie///Noel

    Hi Mrs Stanton,

I am so pleased and relieved to hear that you have come through your surgeries and are making your first tentative steps in the road that is ahead of you.
The last time I saw you was during a time of particular turmoil and change in my life – standing on the precipice of adulthood. Clark told Luke & I how what we were going through and our time at ND would be best viewed in the rearview mirror. I think of that often because it is only the fondest of memories that I think of my time there. It seems so long ago now, but is still with me so clearly as with all the times in my life where I have been through major change or pain or joy. It is in these moments that life seem to feel so real and so clear.
Growing up I always had such a hard time believing in the concept of things happening for a reason and the idea that out of every dark hour we should look for the hidden gift, for the opportunity to learn something new about ourselves and to find strength and love in places that we never imagined. But I have just come through a particularly difficult period in my life, and it has been this time that not only taught me to faith in that sentiment, but I have found that every if I remind myself of that inherent knowledge, that the fear always disappears. I now really feel with every fiber of my being, that no matter how dark the moment, that it will always pass. There will always be a new beginning, we always possess strength that we never imagined we had, and there is always love.
I wish you all, Clark and your boys all my strength, love and light during this time all the way from Africa.
    Regards,
    Kerry White

    Dearest Annie,

I am so happy to learn of your continuing recovery and the love and support from your husband, Luke, family and friends.

With conferences at school and then getting ready for Thanksgiving, I was off line until today, and so I didn’t have the information about your surgery until just now.

My love and prayers will join those of all of your family and friends as you gain more strength a I at home and complete the medical program. I look forward to your blog.

Rest and enjoy getting stronger day by day.

    Love,

    Susie Prest Snell

    Hello Noel!
Glad to hear that you have a quieter room and hope you’ve begun to catch up on your rest! Your ‘blob’ post suggests that you are energetic and feisty today – both good qualities for cheering on your favorite teams this weekend. We’ll watch the Stanford – ND game thinking of you, as will all your other blob fans!
Enjoy the game — it’s now 5pm PST!

    Dear Noel,

Thank you for sharing your story through this blog! I’ll definitely keep reading the posts to follow your journey to recovery.

You might enjoy watching this TED talk while you’re still in bed (and possibly feeling bored!):

It’s a beautiful video ~ be sure to watch the second half. One of the messages from the video is that we are all blessed by the people in our lives – I’m sure everyone following this blog (and many others!) feels blessed and grateful to know you. I do!

I’m sending lots of love your way from Atlanta. You, Clark, Luke, and John are in my thoughts and prayers, and I look forward to seeing you all sometime soon!!

    Love,
    Amanda

Hey Noel/Annie. I think I am finally figuring this blog thingy out. Soon, soon, you will get water and food. Not great gulps but a little more than now. I think anyway, not being there and all. Wish I could be there and all of us. Please take good care and follow the docs and the nurses orders! Ya hear?

    Love you,

    Judy

So looking forward to getting you back home. I am praying daily. One good thing with all your down time, I’ll be over & we can finish or start some of those scrapbooks. Plenty of time for you to ORGANIZE ( which you do best). xoxox Gail

    Noel,
I was thinking of you watching the ND/Stanford game. Even though ND came up short, still a good effort compared to previous years. Salesian won their football game yesterday after a slow first half against Valley Christian. Next week they will play Healdsburg at Salesian. I know you will root for the Pride next Saturday. I continue to keep you in my prayers. I’m sure you’ll feel so much better when you can just get home and away from the nagging hospital routine. Take care.
    Love,
    Marylou

    Ann,
It is so wonderful to hear your voice – your thoughts. You have what it takes and before you know it, you will be back home with your family and your faithful nurses, Ellen and Sarah (I know Sarah is coming soon). You are the same joyous person I remember as a little girl when you lived in Falls City. I am sending you much love and prayers. Rozann
